Vampire Robots

Take a look at our fancy new categories!

Michael Cherkowsky

Greetings!

So as Vampire Robots wraps up its first trip around the sun, it's become necessary to revamp how we categorize things on the site. For most of the first year, it's been easy enough to sort things via "Modern", "Vintage" and "Weird". For most of this first year, there hasn't been a ton of any one type of product to warrant its own category. That's changed recently, as more and more cool stuff comes into our clutches...

So now things have more specific pages. GODZILLA stuff is all together! STAR WARS stuff is all together! ATTACK ON TITAN stuff is all together! Some things, like vintage products, either from Japan or America, will be in Japanese Pop Culture and American Pop Culture, respectively. More one-of-a-kind stuff, that used to be in the "weird" section will now be in "Oddities".

There's also going to be a more rigorous effort to move things to their respective sections. After a week on the front page, a newly acquired product will move to whatever section it needs to be in, provided there are still any in stock of course.

That's pretty much the news for now. Vampire Robots just tabled at two of its bigger conventions, G-Fest, the only Godzilla centric convention, in pretty much the entire world, and Monster Mania, which is Vampire Robots' home town show. Now enjoy some pictures from both events...

Burning Godzilla Exclusive! Pre-order Spaces Still Available!

Michael Cherkowsky

Attention Earth!

Just a friendly reminder that we have an exclusive Burning Godzilla vinyl figure inbound from Medicom Toy at the end of May. Only 100 are being made available for purchase through the website, and only as pre-order items!

Limited to 200 total, the rest will be sold exclusively at Conventions we are tabling at throughout the summer and fall. The price for your pre-order is $110.00. That includes shipping within the US. All 50 states are included. Customers overseas or in Mexico or Canada will need to make other arrangements, and can contact us via the contact form at the bottom of the site.

Most importantly, you will NOT be charged for your order until Burning Godzilla is actually in stock. Right now he is scheduled to land on May 27th, 2015. If some reason he is pushed back (as these thing sometime happen) then you won't be charged until the next arrival date, provided he's here.

With more than half the pre-order spaces still open, you've still got time to place yours, but not THAT much time... Once these have arrived, you'll have to take your chances obtaining one at a Convention this summer. There will also be only so many available per convention as well, so don't hesitate! Take the worry out of this and place your pre-order today!

Fear & Loathing At Toyfair: X-Plus and Diamond Deal Still On!

Michael Cherkowsky

Once a year, the Javits center becomes a massive orgy of plastics, as toy manufacturers great and small convene to show the world how they are going to destroy its wallets with all of these wonderful toys for children and man children alike! As the head of Vampire Robots, I felt it necessary to slowly make my way along the greasy railway system of New Jersey to Manhattan, in order to witness this in person, for the first time ever, with my eyeballs.

On the right hand side of that above picture, you can see Mattel has a massive pavilion all to themselves. The only problem with their strange toy Utopia within a toy trade show is that you have to spend at least $500,000 a year with them. Afterall, they make Barbie and Hot Wheels! Who the fuck are you?! I approached their front counter. A woman with a name tag that said "Isla" asked me what I wanted. I said I was a vendor of new and vintage toys, with a concentration on Godzilla and Star Wars. She told me to get lost before she had one of her fiendish guards beat me like a government mule. I considered trying to sneek in and take pictures of whatever nonsense they had planned for the mass market consumers this year, but their utopian stronghold was closely guarded by jackbooted thugs with slick hair and teeth filed into sharp points. I had no intentions of having my skull caved in by these maroons over some toys!

"I have appointments to keep! I'm a buyer you fools! Barbie gives young girls body dysmorphia and Hot Wheels encourages Climate Change deniers! " I cried at these monsters, before fleeing into a flurry of beanie baby shaped balloon being let go by the nice folks at Ty.

Confident that I lost the nazi ken dolls pursuing me from Mattel Toys. I made my way to the action figure quadrant of Toyfair. Many great toy companies were there, with their action figures on display. I'd provide you fine readers with many pictures, but I know why you're here. You want to know about the X-Plus deal, you swine! Well I'll tell you! Diamond and X-Plus are intending to import 24 more figures this year. !2 will be various Godzilla designs, with an additional 12 Kaiju. No figures were specified. The 25cm King Ghidorah was on display however, I'm told as a sort of statement of intent/placeholder for the line. Apparently the hold up has been that X-Plus had trouble with re-upping the license themselves. Could this be the meddling of Warner Bros? I suppose its possible....why not? This is all musing on my part of course and I could've been fed a line of bullshit. While these plans could entirely change over the course of 2015, I'd reckon anything and everything is up for reissue now, possibly including the 25cm line, which many believed would never be touched.

In other news, Diamond is going to be releasing Ghostbusters figures later this year. The first wave includes Ray, Zeddmore, and Dana (not on display). They're also doing a 6 3/4" Nightmare Before Christmas line for later this year as well.

Below is a random series of pics from booths including NECA, Kotobukiya, Blue Fin and some others...

Godzilla Vinyl Wars CCP Burning Godzilla Exclusive Now on Pre-Order!

Michael Cherkowsky

Here it is! This is the big one folks! As mentioned on the Kaijucast podcast. A North American Exclusive to Vampire Robots, and part of the Godzilla Vinyl Wars line of figures from Medicom. It's based on the Burning Godzilla suit design from 1995's GODZILLA VS. DESTROYAH. This awesome sculpt was originally released by CCP in 2007. It now features a more movie accurate color way! There's only going to be 200, and we're capping pre-orders at 100. If you don't place a pre-order on him, you'll only be able to get him at conventions we're set up at this summer, while supplies last.

The pre-order price is $110, which includes shipping in the US! He's scheduled for release on 5/27/15. Your credit card will NOT be charged until he is in stock. Secure one via pre-order today or risk trying to get one in the melee of G-Fest this summer...

NOTE: Product images are of Medicom's prototype. Final product may differ. Release date is subject to change.

Did you know we have a Pre-Orders page now?

Michael Cherkowsky

Happy New Year readers! Hopefully you've had a fine 2014 holiday season. As you contemplate items for sale on this site that you're wishing your loved ones had bought you for Christmas, we wanted to make a note of our Pre-Order page. As Vampire Robots learns and grows like a proper malignant AI, we've found the need to offer our customers the chance to purchase things we have incoming ahead of time, like any good toy seller. We've actually had the page up and running for a little while. With the holiday rush, there was not a lot of time for fanfare to promote it.

You can pre-order any item on there, and you won't be charged until we have it and are ready to ship! You can also cancel your pre-order on any item all the way up until its in stock. Now, there may be times when we're forced to cancel your pre-order on something. All pre-order items are capped with a certain number we believe we're getting. It will be very rare that we will take unlimited pre-orders on something. However, in spite of our best efforts, sometimes we just don't get enough of something. If that's the case, its a first come, first serve basis. The good news is you can't be charged for something we don't have! We'll be offering our exclusive Medicom Burning Godzilla vinyl figure for Pre-order in the coming days, so its best to familiarize yourself with our system now. Stay tuned...
